Blunderbus Newsletter - Dec 2005

BLUNDERBUS RE-LAUNCH  Since August, 2005, everybody at Blunderbus has been very busy preparing for the official company re-launch on 19th January, 2005. For all of our regular customers, you will be aware that Blunderbus has not toured with new productions for the past 18 months. The main reason for this is because our Artistic Director, Bill Davies has been working as a freelance director and teacher on a variety of other projects. We're delighted to announce that Bill has now returned to Blunderbus and we have now programmed a number of exciting new productions for the forthcoming year.

NEW OFFICE PREMISES We have also moved to a new office base at The Brook Theatre, Chatham. This is a very important move for Blunderbus as we now have our own fully equipped first floor office space. We also have access to a drama rehearsal studio, prop-making and scene-building facilities, along with our own storage space. The Brook also hosts other arts organisations which include Loop Dance Company, South East Touring Agency (SETA) and Changeling Theatre Company. In fact, Medway Council's own Arts Development Team is based at The Brook. Each of the above organisations have offered practical advice and support to Blunderbus.

NEW PROJECTS - RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT Although we have programmed all of our touring work for the forthcoming year, we are keen to re-define the way we work with schools and theatre venues. This will not only include us taking a look at the times our performances are presented, but will also explore audience capacity, length of performance, subject-matter and style of presentation. Our aim is to develop our work to ensure that we provide a multi-sensory, interactive experience for all of the children who experience a Blunderbus visit. We have completed a number of funding applications to help support the Research and Development stages of our work.
